~Safari Party: Part 1~

My sweet baby boy! This amazing picture was taken by Sarah Havard at my son Andrew's 2nd birthday party last weekend. The theme was safari with colors like blues, oranges, yellows, browns, and greens. I had a clown come for part of the party, but she wasn't just any clown. Her name is Miss Sparkles and she's amazing! She was awesome with the kids. I had her do face painting and balloon art for the kids. It was a blast!
Pictures from the party to follow...

This little princess is my daughter Jessica. Her actual age is 4, but she can often be confused with a teenager. She's my diva...loves jewelry, dresses, accessories, being a big sister, and boys. Yes. My little girl is already interested in boys. Ugh. She just loves life and being happy! This picture is also from Andrew's birthday party before she had her face painted like a giraffe. It was so cute!

~National Infertility Awareness Week~

National Infertility Awareness Week is April 24-May 1. It's a movement to raise awareness about the disease of infertility which affects 7.3 million Americans. It's something we don't talk about enough; get the facts, join the movement, and take charge. Visit RESOLVE to learn more. Even if you don't have infertility issues you may know someone who does. I've been blessed to be able to conceive with no problems, so my heart truly goes out to those who can't conceive. Big hugs to you.

Thanks for sharing this A.A. You're always in my thoughts and prayers...stay strong. xo

Mother's Day~Coming up!

I got this post from one of my favorite sites...Social Couture. I love the simplicity of arrangement #2. It's so elegant and would make any mom feel great!
Celebrate Mother's Day by showing Mom how much you care and set the table with a handmade gorgeous floral centerpiece.

1.  This one is definitely my favorite centerpiece...there is something elegant and rustic all that same time (it makes me feel like I am home). A mass of pink ranunculus offers a sweet counterpoint to its rustic country container. Individual cans make arranging easy. Cut stems short and place a small bunch in each can
2.  This next Mother's day floral arrangement comes straight from Martha Stewart; to make this paper corset bouquet, measure the circumference of your bundle with a length of cord. Cut a piece of construction or other heavy paper to the length of the cord, with a width about half the length. Punch matching rows of holes down both short sides, spaced about 1 inch apart. Curl the paper so that it holds the shape of a tube; stand it on end. Slip each end of a piece of silk cord from front to back into the first pair of opposing holes. Even the cord out. Lace up loosely; slip corset over stems, and tighten laces. Trim ends, and tie a bow when finished.
3.  Create an easy outdoor centerpiece using Mom's favorite blooms and a basic white platter. Float flowers like these peonies in small bowls, and arrange them with votive candles for a modern look. On a long table, you can place a few platters or votives down the middle.
4.  I love this button filled flower arrangement. It reminds me of all the buttons my Mom sewed on for me throughout the years.  Thanks for keeping me together Mom!  Fill the bottom of the large vase with buttons, and place the second vase on top. Add more buttons, filling the space between the vases, and then add water.  Fill the smaller vase with water, and arrange flowers inside. So Simple!!

Oh.My.Goodness

Oh.My.Goodness. My mouth waters looking at this picture. If you haven't made chocolate dipped Oreos before you must do it today! They are SO fabulous!!! They are super easy to make, but taste so delicious. I think I can give you directions in 3 super simple steps:
1. Melt either white or semi-sweet chocolate morsels in the microwave.
2. Dip half (or all if you want to go big!) of the Oreo into the melted chocolate.
3. Dip the chocolate dipped side of the Oreo into sprinkles or colored sugar of your choice.

That's it!

Enjoy these tasty morsels!

Check out these beauties!

These are the wine bottles I was speaking about on a post a few days ago. Aren't these so beautiful?! I just LOVE them! They're by Swanky Creations and they can be personalized/customized to just about anything you want! Logan, the owner of Swanky Creations, reuses wine bottles, customizes the labels, and inserts the lights into the bottles. Did you notice there aren't any electrical cords coming out of the bottles?? That's because she has a special way of not having cords come out, which makes these bottles even more fabulous!!! They're battery operated so they save electricity and can be placed just about anywhere.

Love yo' Mama

Today is Earth Day and in honor of our Mother Earth I've decided to make sure that I commit to saving water by drinking wine. :)  It's loaded with antioxidants...right? Well even if it's not I'm going to help save our amazing and beautiful wildlife by continuing to consume healthy
(in moderation, of course ;) ) and tasty wine.

Do your part and reduce, reuse, and recycle. We all live on this wonderful planet so let's keep it clean and try to preserve it as much as we can for generations to come.

Have you seen these?

There are so many amazing local Georgetown businesses that you just have to check out! Of course I may be a bit biased b.c. I just happen to love these 2 businesses, but I love them b.c. they are awesome!

If you love spice without the added salts or MSG then you'll d.i.e. over Sona's Kitchen spice. You can put it on everything. literally. The flavor is amazing and the heat is perfect. Pick up a bottle or 3!

I can't describe just how beautiful these are b.c. I would fill this whole page with adjectives like gorgeous, subtle, glow, humorous, decorative...so you'll have to check them out for yourself. I promise you won't be disappointed you did!

Obsessions

It has come to my attention that I should get paid for baking, blogging, and party planning. I love these things so much that I'm pretty sure I'm officially obsessed! I try to bake for any and every occasion. And I mean bake. Bake as much as I can. There's so much joy in licking the bowl, smelling the sweetness of the sugar, and sipping on wine as I create tasty treats. I get so many amazing ideas from here, here, and here

And then there's party planning...dear, oh dear. I love creating amazing parties so everyone can have an amazing time laughing, catching up, having a drink...or three, and eating food that is so delish.  I couldn't wait to have kids so I could plan their parties. :)

Well I should make a point here. My first obsessions are my family, but my obsessions stem from all of them so now I'm consumed!

Lastly, I really enjoy blogging. I love reading tons of blogs a day to get inspiration and jolt my creativity.
